[VIDEO] What are your “What ifs?”

When you’re thinking about becoming an independent agent, your mind is full of “what ifs.”

What if you don’t make a change?

What if you’re a producer (whether captive or independent) and your agency is sold, or the principal agent retires or dies? What if your commissions get cut? Or your rates go up?

Does this agent’s experience sound familiar to you?

 

Other what-ifs are about the uncertainty if you do make a change:

  • What if you can’t get appointed with enough carriers to have options for your customers?
  • What if you can’t get in front of enough prospects?
  • What if you can’t meet a company’s production requirements and you lose a key carrier?
  • What about the time it takes to build up your income?
  • Do you have enough savings to get through the inevitably lean first year?

As you saw with Justin, Firefly can solve many of your what-ifs. You can get lots of carriers, no production requirements, high commissions, and lots of options for your customers.

But some of your what-ifs are solely up to you to work out. For example, whatever path you decide to take, your success will depend on your ability to to get in front of new prospects regularly.
